Will the Pasvik-Inari trilateral park be able to keep its transboundary certificate for another five years?!
Every fifth year the transboundary certificate is re-evaluated.
The last week of May, the trilateral park got visit from EUROPARC federation verifier. The program consisted of meetings with protected area managers and stakeholders, and onsite visits to the protected areas of Pasvik-Inari trilateral park. The immediate response from the verifier is that the trilateral park cooperation has a high and active degree of transboundary cooperation. The final decision and recommendations for the next five years will come in September.
The EUROPARC Federation transboundary certificate gives our cooperation:
- better structure and joint goals
- recommendations and inspiration in the further development and implementation of our international cooperation
- integration into Pan-European environmental cooperation and networks
- future funding possibilities; internationally recognized and certified transboundary cooperation is as well proof of high-quality cooperation towards Nordic and EU funding programmes.
