Case study published on EU’s platform on Coexistence between people and large carnivores
Transboundary brown bears again
The monitoring shows that the brown bear population of Pasvik-Inari-Pechenga seems stable and shows high genetic variability. The action increases the amount of information and improves estimates of the number of brown bears, especially in inaccessible, natural areas. Locals are positive towards bears and appreciate all extra information on the population. The plan is to repeat the monitoring in summer 2019.
